Character's Name: Nightingale D.o.B / Age: 29 Moons Gender: Doe Rank: Matriarch [Chief of Willow Tree]
Describe what your character's appearance is - Much like her ancestor, Hazel, her family has been able to maintain the same coloration for several generations. Her expression is often soft but worried for the tomorrow of other rabbits. Her hair sometimes gets in the way of her being able to see well, so she's found a style that she's maintained to give herself a bit of a regal look. However, her chest fluff was something inherited by the female side of her ancestry. It's often betrayed her when she tries to be serious and it ends up fluffing when she feels another way.

Pet: [House Finch] Ophelia Pet Info: Nightingale had found herself face to face with what she thought was a dangerous creature, a feathery beast looking to find a rabbit as their next kill. But upon further examination of this creature, she realized that a bird so small couldn’t do much harm. Especially this one. It seemed a little clumsy in it’s flight and looked a little confused as well. The leader took pity and eventually took this small finch into her care and into her home. Now the two are inseparable, with the small finch trailing behind its caretaker.
Backstory:"We are the eyes and ears that keep our allies safe. We are the voice of neutrality when voices are lost in each other. We are the ones from the outside, looking in to find a peaceful solution..."This is what Nightingale was often taught by her mother and her father before they passed, this was their purpose -their duty-as leaders of Willow Tree.
Freesia, her mother and mate to the leader of Willow Tree, gave birth to Nightingale during a time when the foundations of the neighboring warrens were still being placed. Her father, Pecan, thought it would be best to hold a gathering of leaders to better help and understand each warren. Unlike their ancestors that were divided by the need for land, food and power, they would formulate a unity between the four warrens and do their hardest to help maintain peace. However to keep the warrens from fighting those they were not allied with, a condition needed to be made that all parties would agree to refrain from fighting on neutral grounds. This was to try and keep the peace between any and all rabbits entering Willow Tree. This helped Nightingale to meet many different rabbits that attended and formulate bonds that would help the young kit in the far future.
Once she reached the age of Sapling, it was time for her and those at her age, to be monitored and taught by the elders on the Warren's history. They discussed the arrival of the first settlers, the warrens that came to be, and the wars they often fought in or aided allies with. In the end, Nightingale understood that in order to have peace, one must be willing to make peace. Even at such a tender age, she was a great deal wiser than the elders had imagined.
As she grew to become a Knight of Willow Tree Haven, her training and teachings from her parents were put to the test from many various encounters with rabbits from other warrens. Some that had obeyed the law of no fighting on neutral ground, but others were still very stubborn and ready to pick a fight at any given notice. It was a long and hard road for the young doe... but long and harder still is when she became the first Matriarch of her warren to accept her role at the tender age of 20. Her mother and father were both on a convoy to visit one of the neighboring warrens but... something happened and the two were attacked by a wandering homba (fox) that was too close to where they were headed. From that point on, it was a struggle to maintain her status as a Matriarch; even though she was wise and had been taught from a much younger age, it became increasingly difficult before the eyes of her fellow leaders.
Now at her current age, she had to go through obstacles to prove herself of her title and rank, not just to her fellow rabbits of Willow Tree, but to the neighboring leaders as well. With luck and some hope, she will be able to overcome other trials that await her.
